Our Wölkchen natural mattress combines the gentle adaptability of 100 % natural latex with the firmness of latexed coconut fibre, which provides perfect support for the spine.
Because a child's bone structure is still soft and malleable, a children's mattress should be firm enough to give the spine only slight cushioning but optimal support. From around the age of 7, when the shoulders and hips also need a certain amount of give from the mattress as body weight increases, natural rubber is an outstanding material that offers both pressure relief and support.

A sprung slatted frame is not strictly necessary for children between the age of 6 and puberty, but the Wölkchen natural mattress can be combined with one very well.
As a rule a rigid slatted frame is entirely sufficient, since natural latex, thanks to its unsurpassed resilience, needs no relieving cushioning from below, and beneath the central coconut core, which acts with area elasticity, the natural mattress has further room for deformation in a second latex layer. Thanks to its symmetrical construction, the natural mattress can be turned regularly to increase its service life.
Like all our natural and rubber mattresses, the Wölkchen mattress for children and teenagers is tested and certified by the Eco Institute with the "ecological product testing" seal.
