The Merlin 2 natural mattress combines the pressure-relieving properties of 100 % natural latex firmness 2 with the spine-supporting character of a central hemp layer in the core, for sleepers who want a firmer mattress surface when they change sleeping positions.
Most sleepers turn into several sleeping positions during the night. This means that a mattress also has to meet these differing requirements. So if someone falls asleep on their front or in a side-front position, the mattress should have a certain firmness that prevents the intervertebral disc from being loaded on one side in a hollow back. But if you then also turn onto your side during the night, the mattress should offer sufficient point elasticity and adaptability – in other words, softness. It is easy to imagine that a 7-zone cold foam mattress will not get you very far here. Dividing a mattress into zones assumes a static position lying on the side.
